Modernizing Agriculture in Africa
Minimizing post-harvest losses, one community at a time.
Making Agriculture Easy
We design, build, test, and operate agricultural machinery as a product and service. Using our experience from the field, machinery is designed to suit mobility and weight constraints, efficiency, maintenance, and longevity requirements.
Rice farmers in Ghanaian farming communities, especially Adansi Asarekrom in the Ashanti region, experience massive post-harvest losses during the farming season. This occurs as a result of the unavailability of rice threshers, which gives the farmers no option but to use manual threshing methods, which are labor-intensive and time-consuming. Research conducted showed an average and maximum loss of 46.09% and 100%, respectively, of the harvested rice, which negatively affects farmers' livelihoods. The 46.09% average loss, which translates to GHS460,900.00 out of GHS1,000,000.00, could have contributed positively to attaining SDGs 1 and 2; No Poverty and Zero Hunger.
